Gabriel Furman, an award-winning actor, writer, and filmmaker, was born and raised in Queens, NYC. He wrote, produced, and starred opposite Academy Award winner Melissa Leo in the short film Mother’s Day, which led to many notable roles including And Just Like That(HBO), Law & Order: SVU(NBC), and Orange is the New Black (Netflix).
Gabriel also wrote, produced, and starred in Wonder, a short about a boy dreaming of being Wonder Woman for Halloween. The film won 21 awards, including UrbanWorld’s Audience Award and the Jury Award at Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival, qualifying it for Academy Award consideration. Wonder was licensed by HBO across its streaming platforms. His most current film CLAUD_IA premiered at Screamfest and has been making waves at some of the most prestigious genre festivals around the world.
Most recently, Gabriel shadowed Academy Award winning director Bobby Moresco (Crash, Million Dollar Baby) on Maserati: “The Brothers”, starring Anthony Hopkins, Andy Garcia, and Jessica Alba, and directed 2nd Unit for the film. Gabriel, a proud Lifetime member of the Actors Studio, lives in NYC with his girlfriend and their puppy.
